Description
Young bulls
These are young non-castrated males destined for slaughter after a finishing phase in the fattening workshop. Their age varies from 15 to 18 months (24 months maximum).
The young beef bulls (Charolais, Limousin, Blonde d’Aquitaine, Aubrac, Gasconne and Salers) are marketed with a live weight of approximately 600 to 750 kg.
The young dairy bulls (Prim’Holstein and Montbéliarde) are marketed with a live weight of approximately 550 to 650 kg.
Heifers
These are young females destined for slaughter after a finishing phase in the fattening workshop. Their age varies from 18 to 24 months.
Generally deriving from beef breeds (Charolais, Limousin and Blonde d’Aquitaine), they are marketed with a live weight of between 500 and 600 kg.
